Getting Out of Perfection Paralysis

One of the most common ways I see people getting stuck in their businesses? Thinking things needs to be perfect before they can take action.

Whether it’s coming up with a content strategy, updating a website, or launching a new product, there’s often an underlying idea that they need to nail it right off the bat…or else! *insert doom and gloom music here*

What people often don’t recognize is that the idea that things need to be perfect will keep them stuck for much longer than they realize. Weeks and months go by while they’re trying to dial in every last detail behind the scenes instead of taking imperfect action now.

If that’s you, here are a few tricks for getting out of perfection paralysis:

  1. Embrace the SFD.

  2. Ask yourself “what am I thinking will happen if it’s not perfect?”

  3. Create expectations that assume some bumps (especially when outsourcing things!).

  4. Use the reflection questions to move forward. In my book, it’s all about continuous improvement.

More on all of this in the video below (which, let’s face it, isn’t perfect).
